Chances are your input is cheap, but so is your output. You can manipulate it a bit by buying up the output to trade, staging caravans out of the town A workshop will cost you 15,000 denar but are worth it for long-term income. As your clan levels up, you can make more money from workshops and increase the number you have at any one time. Not all workshops are profitable. Breweries, silversmiths and tanneries (unsure on that one) seem to be the go to money makers right now. It also depends on caravans being there, if the faction is at war, etc. You won’t make money just slappping a workshop down in any town. Plus, they take longer than they used to in order to ramp up profits. So how can i as a player influence how my workshop produces to make more money amd what is the underlying symptoms of workshop income?? literally spent 80,000 on workshops at least and made less than 2 or 3 thousand in that time. Perks may help. Trade 50 - Your workshops have 20% less upkeep. Trade 150 - Your workshop productions are increased

Ah I see depending on the city your in (you need to make sure it's actually both rich and making money) it should take a little while of in game time to reach the 200 mark. Your workshop gets its supplies from the town it exists in. So, you technically can supply it -- sell the hardwood to the town in the trade menu.
